Il Mulino di Quercegrossa is a renowned restaurant located along the old Chiantigiana road that leads from Siena to Florence, crossing the Chianti’s hills.
The restaurant is characterized by typical Tuscan environments: the stone on sight architecture with ancient wooden beams of its ceilings, vaulted arches dividing itshalls, a main and two smaller, intimate and confidential, preserve the original mill stone. The millstones are still functioning, but in disuse since the late ’40, as they remember the elderly residents living in the surrounding area; their historical memory tells us how until years of the second afterwar they came here to grind their wheat.
From the renovation of the ancient gores of the medieval mill, the adjacent Aqualis was born, a park of 7 connecting swimming pools, recreating the ancient run of the spring waters which leans our terrace, which offers a natural show.
The outdoor area, suggestive and comfortable, is the scene of special moments: the guests are welcomed by a magical atmosphere in a place where the years pass, but time seems to have stopped; especially in summer, you can eat outside overlooking the Siena countryside.
The large part of our work is a success that derives from our organization: we are a group with a strong respect and sense of tradition. The Chef is Serena, owner of the place from 8 years; in the hall to welcome guests there is Valeria, Serena’s daughter, who also deal with the organization of the events hosted by the restaurant with passion and professionalism. These qualities allow us a full adaptation to the needs of our customers.
The warm attention towards guests that distinguishes our restaurant, is also found at the table with a kitchen based on high quality genuine choice of raw materials and recipes typical of the local tradition.
